So plotting the next upgrades. Is it worth going larger than 63mm on the intercooler, boost pipes and TB, 76mm sounds abit big :?

I ran 70mm boost pipes on my car, with a 76mm intercooler. You make them as big as you can to lower resistance in flow, the little bit of volume they add will make absolutely no difference in the time it takes to get on boost. You will notice a big difference.

The throttlebody you can make a little smaller though, say around the 65mm mark, otherwise the car becomes very twitchy in town, because a very small pedal movement makes a big difference on how much air gets into the engine. Bigger is only really needed for all out racing really.

I agree with Boksie 76 is more than ample and you wont notice any difference in boost (lag).

rule of thumb - 63mm enough for upto 400-500hp......

Go big or go home! Hahahaha

Shuks ouens, I was leading that question into my next one which was the "staggered" diameters ...larger in/out on the cooler vs the TB...Boksie you make me happy :laughinghard:

So upgrades coming soon :mrgreen: Have a intercooling question though,
please tell if I going off course lol. Planning to either go 65mm throughout OR
76mm pipe from the turbo to 76mm cooler, 76mm to 65mm reducer and 65mm
pipe from the cooler to 65mm TB.

I read smaller diameters have higher air velocity hence 65mm after the cooler
instead of 76mm throughout.

So...76 to 76 to 65 is a good idea or is 76mm throughout better?

You can fit 76mm from turbo to intercooler and 65mm otherside, but to many transitions in size will also cause problems sometimes, which is why I said rather go 65mm all the way.

You'll take a long time to out blow 65mm anyway...

Slms guys. My welder is out of waranty so decided to open it up, I need DCEN so I can weld ali but
with the cable and torch fittings on my machine I cant swap them for DCEN. So I saw it might not be
hard to do it, maybe simply swap the fittings around in the machine or make new tabs ( the ones that
connect the welder circuit to the torch and -cable) . Any welder or electronics pro's?...I dont want to
blow myself or the welder up lol. And I got some wrinkles :mrgreen:
