It's a fail safe on the Toyotas, default is earthed. So what happens is the positive side and negative side of the fan for instance is both switched, not like on many other cars where earth is always earthed. So what will happen is the relay will be de-energised and the fan will switch on. Thus if the relay fails, the fan will switch on and run constantly, which is better than not having a fan run at all, like with other cars where the fan is only on when the relay is energised.

Good afternoon Gents

So Friday past I took off & dropped the car at JVS for Jody to up the boost for me.

I got some 24/7 Synthetic Octane booster from DRF, it contains 3 litres of oxygenated ethanol...so 60% eth

The results...225kw & 310nm...on 1.2bar

Then Jody said just to play it safe he pulled a degree of timing & the final figures are 222kw & 300nm

I am super happy with the new numbers & can't wait to feel the power.

The car is still with Jody & he will be setting up the Launch Control with Anti-lag so that it will be easier for me to build some boost on the line when launching!

Can't wait for 29 Oct for the MSA event at Killarney! :thumb:

Laters!

Nicely done D-mon
Looks like there is still some room as it has not dropped off yet.
Can't recall but do you still have the stock springs?

Good morning All

Compliments of the season & all the best for 2017 for all of you & your families!

2016 was a good year, took part in 2 MSA events for the year

These are some pics taken by a friend of mine of me racing at the November event.

This event was super fun...even though my clutch started slipping on 1.2 bar from the 2nd run of the day

My first run of the day was a 14.6s @ 174.58km/h...that was without anything done...hard tyres...2 bar pressure & no burnout...was just to make sure that everything was fine...aka the shake down run :thumb:

From the next race I dropped tyre pressure & then the clutch stated slipping :x

All I then did was switch off the power to the boost solenoid & ran on gate pressure (0.6 bar) for the rest of the day & there was no slip for most of the runs. Due to the slipping clutch I avoided any burnouts on the line.

My best run on 0.6 bar was 14.9s...not bad seeing that my best run to date was a 14.5s on 1.2 bar :thumb:

So to solve my slipping clutch issues I decided to go big...apparently this is too big :laughinghard:

Here it is...my 2017 clutch setup

I will be converting the triple disc to double & then modding the pressure plate cage thingy to suit.

Will also be needing a concentric release bearing, as the fork will most likely bend from the hard diaphragm...the twin disc has a torque capacity of 800ft lbs...that is 1,084nm!

Apparently this clutch will destroy my C series box....so I will need a E series box now

That's it for now...

All comments welcome!

Laters!

Lyk nice.

Watse clutch slave is daai?
Ek dink die Ford Mondeo sin lyk ook so. Ek soek iets om 'n 5-spoed Nissan 1400 box te convert van cable na hydraulic clutch.

Hi Tiaan

From what I have been told its off some VW...mk4 or something.

Just quote the Part number in the pic to Goldwagen & they will tell you what vehicle it is listed for :thumb:
