Hi guys so I wana know which one is better as I'm looking on getting one of these in the near future.lol
I'm clueless on the VE motors.
Which is better in terms of parts, affordability and reliability?
Its for RWD setup.

Regards
Andrew

Making a VE rwd is a pain.
There is no bellhousing that fits correctly, the bolt holes don't line up, the starter won't fit without some grinding inside the bellhousing.
I have looked at this option before and Spuds knows all too well about it too.

BEAMS blacktop is a factory RWD setup, so that would probably be the simplest & Mike's in Cape Town sells the Blacktop BEAMS with 6spd box for R13,500, depending on the car...assuming its your Corolla, you'll most likely have to upgrade the diff to something stronger.

Get a decent management (Adaptronic can control the dual VVT - R9600+-) & get it tuned & you'll be sorted.

Sorry , to my surprise they do not make a bellhousing for them.

Think they should look at making one.

I think the 3Y bellhousing works on the Beams engine to the 21R gearbox.

4a reduction type, not the 20v one. 20v one can be made to work.
I'm currently using a 20v on. Some grinding needed :thumb:

Edit. End result of mine is I can use a 4a 16v and 20v starter lol
Only diff between the 2 is one "ear" on the 20v starter abit longer,
so a new hole needs to be drilled
