I have on of those Equus Midas compression testers and it was sitting just onder 800 on the gauge that is just just inside the lower green side of the gauge.....

I tested the compression on my GZE with one of those and the needle was sitting between 530 and 550 for each cylinder and there was nothing wrong with those valves as we lapped them all in to make sure and they were perfect, plus there were new rings on and everything. Those guages are a good indication if one cylinder measures way less than the others then there might be a problem, but if they all are within like 10-30 of each other then there's nothing wrong to be honest.

Make a little reservoir like so to distribute fuel evenly to the two carbs.

how do I work out compression?
Bore is 78mm Stroke is 82mm the combustion chambers for my head is 33cc from factory and I dont think this head has been skimmed much..... as in the pic on post #1 the pistons are level with the deck when turned to tdc..

Ek het weer compression toets gedoen:
#1 - 750kpa #2 - 850kpa #3 - 850kpa #4 - 850kpa
Het n ander gauge ook gebruik en tussen die 2 is daar min verskil....
Ek kan net nie verstaan hoekom die drukking so laag is nie.... Ek het vewag dat dit die gauge meer na die vol kant toe moet druk nie na die laekant toe nie.....

11:1 sê net dat daai piston jou atmosferiese druk vat en dit 11 keer meer compress onder vol compression. Wat is jou atmosferiese druk waar jy dit meet? Sê jou atmosferiese druk is 0.85 bar dan moet die compression 11x0.85 wees en dit is 9.35 bar, maar jy kry 8.5 bar so jou atmosferiese druk is 8.5/11 en dit is 0.77 bar en dit klink reg vir hoëveld, want in PTA is ons tussen 0.85 en 0.88 en JHB is ek dink amper 200m of 300m hoër as PTA.
Dit is ook hoekom karre op seevlak beter perform as in JHB omdat die atmosferiese druk baie hoër is so jou druk in jou combustion chamber is hoër.
Kry 'n barometer en kyk wat jou atmosferiese druk is wanneer jy meet.

Ek het vanoggend die kar by AMS Tuning afgelaai vir dyno....
so sal maar dien wat gebeur...

ek weet net dis die Mazda etude 1600 16V se pistons.....
hulle is nou in die block so om spec te gee is moeilik...
ek weet net as mens hulle TDC draai steek hulle net net uit..... (minder as 'n mm)

Miskien is dit net ek maar ek het vir na jou compreesion program gekyk, jou head gasket is kliener as jou piston, miskien tik voud?

nee, mens kry nie groter headgaskets vir die nissan A14 nie so die pistons is so bietjie "geshamfer" om nie die firering te moer nie....
standard is die gasket 76mm
