actually yes.... that does make perfect sense.... the hole on the outside in the oil filter socket, on the block, comes from the pump, and with the pump no longer there, won't have any oil coming out of it...

it would simplify things greatly....

That looks like a filter with the rubber o-ring to the front of it.

I was just thinking, you could also plumb the feed into this hole in the red circle, if you want to use the OE filter still. Don't know if the size of that hile would be big enough for the right volume of oil and then you'd have to somehow block off the inside of the oil pump housing, maybe with a threaded plug or something.

that has to be a filter cos the pump would drive off the crank.
looking to do this on my 20v so i will be following
cant source parts locally though
