Evening everyone,

I've got some questions about the 60-2timing wheel from the dfx thread which #Rotor kindly uploaded.

1) the backing plate has got notches cut out from the inner centre has this been done to allow for small spot welds or weight reduction?

2) what is the best method of attaching the backing plate multiple short welds on the exterior lip of the pulley and back of the plate or small spot welds on notches in the inner centre?

3) What is the best method of lining up the backing plate to allow for the best placement of the timing wheel to be set on the tdc with the gap in the wheel? Is it best just to rotate the backing and timing wheel to get them to line up?

4) what thickness material should be used for the wheel? I have used the 5mm as per the drawing.

5) Does the pulley need to be sent off for balancing?

I also have some questions about the timing sensor:
1) what is the best type of sensor to use(for cost and performance and reliability)? I have read about the use of the a crank sensor From an Opel Astra 1.6(year.)

2) what is type of mount is best to use for sensor?

3) Does the direction of the sensor to the timing wheel impact performance? Sensor 90 degrees to the timing wheel or the sensor pick up straight inline with the timing slots in the timing wheel?

4) what type do wire should be run from the sensor to the management system?

5) I am assuming the + &- are connected to the same crank signal pickups +&-?

Hopefully I haven't repeated anything from previous post as I was not able to find this information after searching.

Cheers

HI Street Racing forum members,

I have got a question relating to mounting position of the v notch in the timing wheel to the sensor.
download/file.php?id=3219

At what position should the v be pointing/time in using a 12 hour clock face using a similar mount to #Rotor's sensor mounting assuming that the cyclinder 1 is on TBDC and assuming the pulley alignment notch is at the 12 o'clock position?

I understand that the v notch should be 14 teeth away from the sensor in an anti-clockwise direction is this correct?

Cheers
