HI Well my dad has an Almera 2005 model 1.6i The car as he says does not want to start or it starts but dies immediately. People from Nissan told him its the immobilizer in the key , so they told him of a series of moves with the key to override it (This is also in the Owners manual) Well he did this successfully but when the car has been standing for a week it does not want to start, like I said it starts but dies immediately. He check.changed the battery so its not that the fuel pump and its not that. He asked me about diagnostics and well he is 60kms away from the nearest town. We would like to diagnos it ourselves( Was thinking to get the tool that autozone sells as that is cheap) What do u guys say about them? has any1 used the mni scanner check below. http://www.zasttra.com/pages/search-res ... san%20&p=1 Also if u guys know what might be wrong let me know Also if u guys have an inexpensive tool u used on this model car let me know Thanks for the replies in advance Wink |

you need to get the fault codes from the engine ECU and the NATS ecu |

Well A lot of Free Software That I Downloaded and that came with the CD What should I use or What would U Recommend? Maybe I am Doing Something Wong Or using The Wrong Software? So Also I take it The Cable Works Then ? Its Just The Software that is the Problem? And The Car is OBD2? But The Software is Different? Thanks |

I think you might be it of a pioneer on this. Don't recall anyone on here doing the OBD2 stuff for an Almera before. |

OBD2 is standard from year 2000. the only difference is different manufacturers use different protocols. you need to fins software that works with nissan's protocol. they trying to keep us out, forcing ppl to go to the agents. from last year all european vehicles now HAVE to use the same protocol for emisions systems, so that when a car is pulled off they can check by plugging in a simple machine and fineing you on the spot |
