Hi all,
Hope you can give advise?

I had these 2 problems for a while now!

At Idle voltage is 13,7V
When at 2K rpm & above: V = 14,1
I'm runnin meth pump. When it activated over 0,5 bar, my laptop dicktator software disconnects.
This cause me not being able to tune after 0,5 bar with meth active.
I checked the voltage when meth pump kiks in: Voltage drops from 13,8 to 12,9V
Any advise :help:
Boksie :help:

I read... i think boksie mentioned it.. that because the relay of dicktator feeds all injectors, ign & fuel pump.
By feeding fuel pump with seperate relay will solve some current draw issue!!!
Im tinkin this could possibly be the issue causing my diktator software to show not connected??

Another problem I encountered is my battery goes flat over a longish period of time.
Put in new battery.... same happens but just over longer period.
I checked no drains on amp ect... do not have big sound anyhow!!
I suspect I need a bigger alty?
... where can I get bigger Alty that will fit 20V??? Worx :help:

you dont need a bigger alty...the meth pump doesnt draw that much.....where is the meth pump connected to??....same point as the dick?? if you want a better alty then you have to get a bosch alty off a 4age 16v and give it to me for an upgrade....can get it up to 110amps.....but i suspect wiring!

Add another relay, it's always a good thing to do anyway...

Worx!
Meth pump connected to its own relay, which is fed straight from battery not via dicky wiring.

it doesnt need to be via dicky to interfere with dicky....as your post obviously suggests

your dictator's IO chip might be busy getting out of it's socket.... it's the RS232 comunicator chip. I think it's a DIL14 or DIL16.

just open up the box and make sure all the chips are firmly pressed into their sockets...

I was just saying, having everything on their own relays is never a bad idea. Regardless if it's going to draw large amounts of current or not.

But I'm leaning towards the very last suggestion Wesley had, about wiring, I'd just point out earth points as the likely culprit. Positive connections are very rarely the cause of wiring problems, unless the wires get chaffed through and they make a short circuit, because the positive is usually what gets all the attention with soldering and taping and stuff.

We all tend to simply bolt the earth to the first available metal part, which usually ends up biting you in the ass...

Yip I agree Boksie, earth always a bugger!!

Hi Rotor, Jy is baie still deesdae..... of kruip jy weg?... :D
I will check the chips! but I did not think that could be the problem, since the dicky software only disconnects exactly when the meth pump activates. Also when I switch meth pump off, dicky stays on throughout rev range??

Worx, in what way do you mean will it interfere with diky?

is your meth kit connected to ign at all..??? is dicky maybe at the same point?? do these 2 share the same earth point.....i doubt it a earth problem....you would have fried dicky already!

oh ok well then if the problem goes away with the pump being removed, then obviously the pump is introducung some noize into the power cct that somehow is of such frequency that it reacts badly with the comunication on the ECU...

try to filter the pumps power line, by maybe running a large cap over it.. this way the " noise would get filtered out to ground.
