Check the gap between the sensor and the toothed wheel, could be that it's to big, then it might also do that. Also, the teeth mustn't be rusted, that gan give false readings as well...

Thanks for the input guys the car is running smooth now with a new sensor...... then the oil light and buzzer came on again briefly and the not so briefly but i checked the oil pressure myself last week 2bar @idle going up to 5 when giving revs, thats why changed one sensor on oil filter housing but there is another so tomorrow change that.
Wiring closed in a harness so maybe its the unit in the cluster any ideas?

its only the one on the oil filter housing that controls the oil buzzer. earth it out against the engine then see if still comes on.that will basically give it a high oil reading! if it still comes on chances are its the control unit in the cluster

Whats the difference between different colour sensors? How do you mean high oil reading like as in to much oil? I appreciate the constant feedback and will put my 2c in where ever it can help so far this is the only forum to give consistent and enlightened responses.

I think your one wire should be blue(possibly with a trace) and the other one plain black(should look like it belonged there from the begining)take the plain black one and earth it,this will give the control unit a max pressure reading so if the buzzer and light still come on then its the unit in the cluster....if it doesnt then its the sender unit! the 2 sender units(in the filter housing) have different resistances so its important to use the right one.....from what you telling me you just changed the one that control the light on the cluster which is possibly why the problem is still there if it is in fact the sender unit.....but before you go buying a sender unit just earth out the plain black one! if the light stays on once you started up then you using the wrong wire....put it back on the sender unit and use the other one....the oil light should go off now.rev the car a few times over 3000rpm and check if the buzzer comes on....if it doesnt then the sender is busted.....if it does.....well then there could 2 problems 1 the cluster 2 broken wire in the loom
